Uma Hosts Again!
On this past Sunday, December 3, Uma Pemmaraju hosted a 90-minute block of Fox News Live, piloting solo the first 30 minutes, then splitting the next hour with Eric Shawn. Perhaps someone at FNC DID listen. Great job, Uma!

Maybe Someone At Fox News Listened
That's right, Fox News Channel's very own Uma Pemmaraju substituted today for Martha MacCallum, hosting The Live Desk. It was Uma's first hosting assignment in 4 1/2 months. That's Uma, hosting The Live Desk on Friday, December 1, 2006.

Is Uma On Her Way Out?
What Fox News has done in recent months with Uma Pemmaraju is nothing short of scandalous, and this is an outrage and a disgrace. Why won't they let this talented journalist host ANY programming on FNC? Is she currently working there without a contract---or has she been notified that her contract isn't being renewed? It seems that Uma is now being treated at Fox News as if she were a parasite. It appears that the Fox News Brain Trust is willing to win at all costs---even to the career detriment of some of its' on-air talent, such as Uma. Could Uma soon be going the way (evidently) of Carol Iovanna and Donna Fiducia?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FOX NEWS CHANNEL!
Today marks the tenth anniversary of the launching of the Fox News Channel.

Don't Forget
This coming Saturday marks the tenth anniversary of the launching of the Fox News Channel, and on Sunday, there is a special program commemorating FNC's 10 years on the air, hosted by Chris Wallace and Martha MacCallum, scheduled to air a 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Subject, of course, to major breaking news.

Steve and Brian's New Partner.
Gretchen, E.D., Swap Jobs
Gretchen Carlson, who had hosted the two-hour Fox News Live block formerly warmed over by Brigitte Quinn is joining the cast of Fox & Friends this coming Monday. She is, in effect, swapping dayparts with E.D. Hill, who had been one of the hosts of F&F since the show's beginnings in 1998. E.D. will, beginning this Monday as well, be seen anchoring Fox News Live from 7-9AM Pacific Time. Remember that back in 1998 and 1999, E.D. hosted FNL's forerunner, Fox News Now.

New Gigs For Jane and Martha
Beginning Monday, September 25, Jane Skinner will begin her new regular hosting assignment as she replaces Martha MacCallum as anchorwoman for the 11AM to 12 Noon Pacific Time hour of Fox News Live. For Jane, it is a new hosting assignment that has been long in coming. As for Martha, she will host a new show on that same date, starting at 10Am Pacific Time entitled The Live Desk with Martha MacCallum, which in turn, is replacing DaySide, whose two headliners, Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy, are set to host a new midmorning show starting early next year on Fox owned-and-operated televsion stations. Some might say that DaySide never really recovered from last year's departure of Linda Vester, who left the show to go on extended maternity leave. They should have given that show to Uma Pemmaraju and/or Donna Fiducia instead of two teenagers masquerading as adults.
Redesigned Fox News Web Page----What The (Censored) Is Going On?!
Fox News unveiled its' redesigned web site today. I actually liked the old design better. What happeded to the promo photos of the on-air talent? Have the brain trust taken them down? Any comments from the proverbial Peanut Gallery?

Now, It's Uma's Turn
Add Uma Pemmaraju to the higher-profile Fox News Channel on-air talent handling overnight updates. Tonight makes it two nights in a row for Uma.

What's With The Overnight Update--or---Where Are Donna and Carol?
Over the past two or more weeks, higher-profile Fox News Channel talent like David Asman, Page Hopkins, Kiran Chetry, Gregg Jarrett, Patti Ann Browne, and Lauren Green, among others, along with freelancer Darby Dunn, have been doing FNC overnight news updates instead of Donna Fiducia and Carol Iovanna. Whether Donna and/or Carol may be on vacation, or assignment, or ended up with a contract that was not renewed remains to be seen.

Uma's Special
This coming Sunday, July 2, Fox News Channel is scheduled to air a special entitled A Special For Young People. It is a sequel to the original special that first aired last Christmas weekend. And yes, FNC's very own Uma Pemmaraju will host the special, which is slated to premiere at 7:00 PM Pacific, 10:00 PM Eastern Time, on FNC. Like the first special, this telecast will explore on the accomplishments and achievements of some of our prominent seasoned citizens. This NEW special is scheduled to air again at 10:00 PM Sunday night Pacific Time/1:00 AM Monday morning Eastern Time. Please keep in mind that Uma's special may be subject to delay, interruption, or pre-emption in cast of major breaking news developments.

Hot New Promo Pics Of Jane and Uma!
Here are two brand new Fox News Channel promotional photographs of anchorwomen Jane Skinner and Uma Pemmaraju.

O'Ding On Jamie?
The one Saturday hour of Fox News Live time that had been eliminated was recently restored (1-2PM, Pacific Time). Now, you're seeing Jamie Colby host twice each Saturday and Sunday, by herself at 11AM Pacific Time both days, and on the other times, co-piloting with Gregg Jarrett and/or Bob Sellers. Not only that, she gets to play guest anchorwoman on too many weekdays, pinch-hitting for Brigitte Quinn or Martha MacCallum. The reason I wrote "too much" is because that takes away hosting opportunities for Uma Pemmaraju and Patti Ann Browne. And that's not right.

Changes At Fox News, Washington
With Tony Snow's departure for the Bush Administration, Brian Wilson, who has been the Sunday anchorman for Weekend Live, will become the Saturday show's anchorman as well. Major Garrett will become the new congressional correspondent. Mike Emanuel becomes the new Pentagon correspondent, replacing Bret Baier, who becomes the new chief White House correspondent, in turn replacing "Campaign" Carl Cameron, who becomes chief political correspondent, coverting the mid-term elections.

Carol
Here's Carol Iovanna, as seen closing out a Fox News update heading into a rebroadcast of The Beltway Boys on January 28, 2006.
Carol's SNC Days
Here is Carol Iovanna, as seen on the old ABC-Westinghouse co-owned Satellite News Channel, on its final day of operation, October 27, 1983. SNC had recently been sold to Turner Broadcasting (which owned its rival, Cable News Network), for expressed purpose of closing it down.
Uma
This one's for all those Uma Pemmaraju fans and followers out there. She was wrapping up a Fox News update on March 1 of this year. Uma's had a few opportunities to host this year, a number that may be declining this year(one factor could well be the elimination of Fox News Live time on weekends, as mentioned in an earlier post). Uma's a talented professional who should be hosting on a regular basis.
Donna
I know that Donna Fiducia has a lot of fans and followers out there. Here
s a shot of Donna, finishing a Fox News update that aired during a rebroadcast of the March 1, 2006 edition of The O'Reilly Factor. Donna should be given a chance to host on a regular basis.

Shep and Jane
This is from March 1 of this year, while the Studio B set (which also houses Fox & Friends) was under renovation. Studio B with Shepard Smith originated that day from the Fox News Channel newsroom. Here's Shep, with Jane Skinner.
Less Time For "Fox News Live" on Weekends
There seems to be less time for Fox News Live on weekends. On Saturdays, it's only on from 11AM-12 Noon. The period from 1-3PM has been replaced with the prerecorded Wall Street Journal Report with Paul Gigot for a half-hour, followed by The Big Story Weekend with Julie Bandaras. On Sundays, FNL airs from 7-9AM, then after Weekend Live with Brian Wilson, resumes from 11AM-12 Noon, then resurfaces from 1-2PM. On both days, you have the weekend version of Studio B with Trace Gallagher from 12Noon to 1PM. The elimination of three hours of FNL time on weekends means less opportunity for not only a regular anchorman like Gregg Jarrett, it also closes a little more opportunity for hosting time for the Patti Ann Brownes and Uma Pemmarajus.
All times mentioned are Pacific times.

Uma's Birthday
I forgot to mention that this past Friday (March 31) was Uma Pemmaraju's birthday. Hopefully, Uma had herself a very happy birthday.

More Additions To My Network TV
This from Broadcasting & Cable:
My Network TV Signs With Five Affils
By Allison Romano -- Broadcasting & Cable, 3/7/2006 6:37:00 PM
Foxs new My Network TV inked deals with five affiliates Tuesday, bringing its distribution to 40% of the country. Raycom Media is committing three of its stations WUAB Cleveland, KFVE Honolulu and WBXH Baton Rouge, La. to the new mini-network, which is launching Sept. 5.
I love the concept of My Network TVs business and programming model, and am betting on the unparalleled track record behind the My Network TV leadership and News Corp., Raycom CEO Paul McTear said in a statement.
Also signing on are Mirage Medias KPSE Palm Springs, Calif., and Capitol Broadcastings WB affiliate WWWB Charlotte, N.C. Capitol owns both the UPN and The WB in Charlotte, and committed the UPN affiliate last week to The CW network.
The deals come the same day that the CW also signed five more stations to bring its clearance to about 55% of the country. Both networks say they will reach more than 90% of U.S. TV homes by launch.

New News Corporation Broadcast Network
This past Wednesday, News Corporation (which owns the Fox Network, Fox News Channel, and FX, amongst others) announced plans for the launching of a new broadcast television network called My Network TV, which is intened to serve the nine Fox-owned stations that are losing their UPN affiliations (CBS-owned UPN and Warner Brothers-owned WB are closing up shop in September to make room for The CW Network) and other would-be orphaned UPN and WB outlets. Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News and the Fox Television Stations group, would head up this new network.

Jane Skinner As Regular On Weekday Version Of "The Big Story?"
Looks like for the past few weeks that Jane Skinner has become a regular correspondent on The Big Story with John Gibson, perhaps taking over the spot formerly held by the now-long-departed Heather Nauert (who moved over to ABC last Spring).
Trace Gallagher Become Weekend "TFR" Anchorman
Fox News veteran Trace Gallagher beginning this past Saturday (February 4) became the new weekend anchorman of The Fox Report as well as the host of the new weekend editions of Studio B.

Here's Rick!
Here is a look at the other Fox News Channel veteran heading for News Corporation O&O WNYW in New York City. That's Rick Folbaum on the left, co-hosting with Carol Iovanna, FNC's Hurricane Dennis coverage from July 11, 2005.
Here's A Look At Dari
Here is a look at outgoing Fox News Channel anchorwoman/news updater, WNYW(New York)-bound Dari Alexander.
Rick and Dari Transferred To WNYW
Two Fox News Channel anchormen, Rick Folbaum, who has hosted the weekend editions of The Fox Report, and who has been the number 1 back-up on weeknights to Shepard Smith, and Dari Alexander, who until recently had regularly hosted Saturday afternoon editions of Fox News Live, and who has also been a news updater, are being shifted to the News Corporation owned and operated station, WNYW-TV, in New York City to become co-anchormen of that station's 6:00 PM (Eastern Time) local newscast.
