From 1940, here's George Formby singing "Mr. Wu's A Window Cleaner Now" in this clip from the British motion picture "Let George Do It."  The instrument that George is playing is a Banjo-Ukulele, or Banjulele.

Justice, Rudy Vallee Style

From 1931, here's Rudy Vallee and his Connecticut Yankees, starring in "Musical Justice," originally released theatrically by Paramount Pictures.  The short, directed by Aubrey Scotto, with music by Sammy Lerner and Sammy Timberg, also features Mae Questel, who would be best remembered for her portrayals of Betty Boop, Olive Oyl, and Little Audrey in various Fleischer/Famous/Paramount Cartoon studios animated shorts.
