Here is a theatrical trailer seen in the motion picture theaters back in the day for a 1942 Universal serial, "Gang Busters," based on the radio show of the same name which was created by Phillips H. Lord.





Kent Taylor, who was one of the stars of this serial, later starred as "Boston Blackie" on television in the syndicated series that ran from 1951 to 1954.

How Bout Some Animation History?

This is believed to have been the first animation segment done in Technicolor (this looks like the two-strip variety). This is a segment from the 1930 Universal feature "The King of Jazz," which starred Paul Whiteman and his orchestra.



The animation was supervised by director-animators Walter Lantz and Bill Nolan.
