When the Wildcats' Adrain Hilburn slipped a tackle and raced to the end zone with a 30-yard touchdown catch with 73 seconds remaining, he gave a salute to the fans and was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike penalty. Kansas State's two-point conversion attempt, which would have tied the game, had to be tried from 18 yards out. It failed.
