KENTUCKY TOO MUCH FOR KANSAS: WILDCATS MAKE IT EIGHT NCAA TITLES

At New Orleans:

Doron Lamb scored 22 points while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 11 as the Kentucky Wildcats (38-2) built up a 14-point halftime lead en route to a 67-59 win over the Kansas Jayhawks (32-7) on Monday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to win their eighth NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament championship, their first since 1998.  Despite being held to six points, the Wildcats' Anthony Davis, who grabbed 16 rebounds, made six blocks, five assists, and six steals, was named tournament Most Outstanding Player.  Coach John Calipari won his first national title in four Final Four appearances.  Thomas Robinson scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Jayhawks, who battled back to make it a five-point game with 97 seconds left before the Wildcats sealed the game with five free throws.
