Zdeno Chara scored the game winner at 18:07 of the third period as the Boston Bruins regained home-ice advantage for their conference quarterfinal series with the Washington Capitals following their 4-3 road win in game three to take a two-games-to-one lead.
At Ottawa:
Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 39 shots while Brian Boyle scored the only goal of the game at 7:35 of the third period as the New York Rangers blanked the Otttawa Senators 1-0 to take a two-games-to-one advantage (and home-ice advantage) in their first-round series.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At San Jose, California:
The St. Louis Blues, with three power-play goals (Patrik Berglund in the first period, Jason Arnott in the second, and Alexander Steen in the third), held off a late San Jose rally to hold off the home-standing Sharks 4-3 in game three to lead their opening-round series two games to one.
