Junior Seau, the former San Diego Chargers linebacker who was elected to twelve Pro Bowls and six-time All-Pro, was found deceased at his Oceanside, California from an apparent self-afflicted gunshot wound to his chest on Wednesday.
Mr. Seau was 43 years old.
Junior played 13 years with San Diego (who selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 1990 draft out of Southern California) before going to the Miami Dolphins in 2003 then went to the New England Patriots in 2006, playing on the 2007 team that went 18-0 before losing Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants. He was on the Chargers' losing Super Bowl XXIX team that fell to the San Francisco 49ers.
