Little Caesars Pizza Bowl: Chippewas Hold Off Hilltoppers

At Detroit:

Quarterback Ryan Radcliffe threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winner of 11 yards to Cody Wilson with 5:11 remaining, giving the  Central Michigan Chippewas a 24-21 win over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in Wednesday's Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.

Both teams finished the season at 7-6.  The defeat spoiled the Hilltoppers' bowl debut since joining college football's top flight in 2009.

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl: Defensive Performance Sparks Mustangs Past Bulldogs

At Honolulu:

Defensive end Margus Hunt forced two fumbles that set up field goals and sacked opposing quarterback Derek Carr in the end zone for a safety as the SMU Mustangs (7-6) dominated the Fresno State Bulldogs (9-4) 43-10 in Monday's Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.  Taylor Reed and Hayden Greenbauer returned interceptions of 69 and 83 yards respectively for Mustang touchdowns.

Jack Klugman, Starred As Oscar Madison In TV's "The Odd Couple," And In Title Role In "Quincy M.E.," R.I.P.

Jack Klugman, the veteran character actor best remembered for his portrayal of the slovenly sportswriter Oscar Madison in the 1970s TV adaptation of The Odd Couple, then played a crusading forensic pathologist in Quincy, M.E., passed away on Monday at his home in the Woodland Hills section of Los Angeles at the age of 90.

Mr. Klugman (who had survived an earlier throat cancer scare) had a vocal cord removed in 1989 due to cancer and his voice was reduced to a gravelly whisper.

On The Odd Couple, Jack won two Emmy awards for his role as slovenly Oscar, while Tony Randall won one for his role of fussbudget Felix Unger.

On Quincy, Jack played the title role of a crusading pathologist who worked in the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Jack Klugman appeared in numerous motion pictures.  He played Juror #5 in the film adaptation of the live television play "12 Angry Men."

Pilots Top Braves In Vegas

At Las Vegas:

In Las Vegas Classic consolation-game action on Sunday, Ryan Nicholas (who grabbed 12 rebounds) and Derrick Rodgers each scored 12 points as the Portland Pilots (7-7) defeated the Bradley Braves (8-4) 57-55.

Seahawks Blast Sluggish Niners, Lock Up Playoff Berth, Still Have Shot At Divisional Title

At Seattle:

Quarterback Russell Wilson threw for four touchdowns while Marshawn Lynch ran for two other scores on Sunday night as the Seattle Seahawks (10-5)--still unbeaten at home--locked up a playoff berth with a 42-13 home domination of the San Francicsco 49ers (10-4-1).  This prevented the Niners from locking up the NFC West Division title.  The Seahawks can still win the divisional title next Sunday by defeating St. Louis at home, provided the Niners fall at home to Arizona.

Beavers Top San Diego To Stretch Winning Streak To Five

At Las Vegas:

In Saturday action from the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic, Eric Moreland and Roberto Nelson each netted 20 points as the Oregon State Beavers (9-2)  defeated San Diego 86-79 (6-7).  The victory was the fifth' consecutive for the Beavers.

Vikings Fall To Wildcats In OT

At Portland, Oregon:

Five players----Gelaun Wheelwright and Jordan Richardson with 14 points apiece; Scott Bamforth, 13; and Kyle Tresnak and Davion Berry with 12 each----scored in double figures on Saturday as the Weber State Wildcats (6-3 overall, 2-0 in Big Sky play) defeated the home-standing Portland State Vikings 73-69 (3-6, 1-1) in overtime.

In Saturday action from the Las Vegas Classic, Pierce Hornung scored 24 points as the Colorado State Rams (9-2) defeated the Portland Pilots (6-7) 70-53.

MAACO Las Vegas Bowl: Late FG Carries Broncos Past Huskies

At Las Vegas:

Michael Frisina kicked the game-winning field goal with 76 seconds remaining as the Boise State Broncos (#19 in the Bowl Championship Series standings, #20 in the Associated Press poll, #15 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings; 11-2), playing what may have been their final* game as a member of the Mountain West Conference, defeated the Washington Huskies (7-6) 28-26 in Saturday's Maaco Las Vegas Bowl.

*Scheduled to join the Big East Conference (as a football-only member) on New Year's Day.

New Orleans Bowl: Ragin' Cajuns Hold Off Pirates

At New Orleans:

Quarterback Terrence Broadway threw for 316 and a touchdown and ran for 108 yards and another score while Alonzo Harris carried the ball 21 times for 120 yards and two TD's (runs of 6 and 68 yards) as Louisiana-Lafayette (9-4) defeated East Carolina (8-5) 43-34 in Saturday's New Orleans Bowl.

Ducks Back On Winning Track; Dominate Houston Baptist

At Eugene, Oregon:

Tony Woods scored 14 points while E.J. Singler added 13 as the Oregon Ducks (10-2) manhandled visiting Houston Baptist (4-7) 91-50 on Saturday.

Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl: UCF On Top Over Ball State

At St. Petersburg, Florida:

Quarterback Blake Bortles threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score as the Central Florida Knights (10-4) downed the Ball State Cardinals (9-4) 38-17 in Friday's Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl.  The game was the Big East-bound Knights' final gridiron clash as a member of Conference USA.

SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl: Kyle Van Noy's Two Defensive TDs Spark Cougars

At San Diego:

Kyle Van Noy scored two defensive touchdowns (a fumble return and an interception return of 17 yards) as the BYU Cougars (8-5) defeated the San Diego State Aztecs (9-4) 23-6 in Thursday's edition of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, a battle of two former Western Athletic and later Mountain West Conference rivals.

Vikes Claim Conference Opener

At Portland, Oregon:

Lateef McMullan scored 20 points as the Portland State Vikings (3-5 overall, 1-0 in Big Sky play) opened Big Sky Conference play on Thursday night with a 63-49 home win over the Idaho State Bengals (1-8, 0-1).

Four In A Row For The Beavers

At Corvallis, Oregon:

Eric Moreland and Roberto Nelson each netted 14 points on Wednesday night as the Oregon State Beavers (8-2) picked up their fourth straight victory, 69-53  over visiting Howard (3-9).  Mike Phillips scored 15 points to pace the Bison.

Ducks Drop Triple-Overtime Thriller In El Paso

At El Paso, Texas:

Konner Tucker converted a three-point shot with fourteen seconds remaining in the third overtime period on Wednesday as the UTEP Miners (4-5), helped along by Julian Washburn's 23 points and John Bohannon's 21, knocked off the visiting Oregon Ducks (9-2) 91-84.  Damyean Dotson scored 20 points to pace the Ducks.

Pilots Make It Three Straight

At Portland:

In an opening round game played on Wednesday night for the Las Vegas Classic, Kevin Bailey scored 27 points while Riley Barker added 16 as the Portland Pilots (6-6) notched their third straight win, 74-64 over North Florida (3-8).
