Oregon State Beavers:
Seventh Round: Sean Canfield, quarterback, selected by the New Orleans Saints (239th overall selection)

NFL Draft: Niners Friday Picks
Friday, during the second day of the NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected:
Second Round: Taylor Mays, Free Safety, Southern California (49th selection overall). The ex-Trojan who played for (now Seattle Seahawks coach) Pete Carroll had dreamed of following in the footsteps of fellow former Trojan (and 49ers Hall of Famer) Ronnie Lott.
Third Round: Navorro Bowman, Outside Linebacker, Penn State (91st selection overall, selection acquired from San Diego)

Niners Pick Offensive Help In Draft
With their two first-round selections in the National Football League draft on Thursday night, the San Francisco 49ers selected offensive Anthony Davis from Rutgers with the 11th overall pick and offensive guard Mike Iupati from Idaho with the 17th overall selection.
This may be seen as a vote of confidence for starting quarterback Alex Smith.
