Aftermath Of Civil War Game: Ducks Stay #5 In BCS Rankings; Beavers At #15

In the aftermath of Oregon's road domination of Oregon State in Saturday's Civil War contest, the Ducks remained at #5 in the Bowl Championship Series standings released on Sunday.  Despite the lopsided defeat, the Beavers only dropped down a spot in the BCS standings to #15.  With their win over Southern California, top-ranked Notre Dame clinched a berth in January's BCS National Championship Game.  Alabama, Georgia, and Florida remained second through fourth in the BCS standings.

Associated Press media poll:  Oregon at dropped a spot to #6 while Oregon State remained steady at #16.

USA Today/Coaches poll: Both teams remained right were they were, the Ducks at #4 and the Beavers at #17.

Ducks Fall Three Spots In BCS; Beavers Hold Steady

Following their home overtime setback at the hands of Stanford, the Oregon Ducks dropped three spots to #5 in the Bowl Championship Series standings that were released on Sunday night.  Notre Dame becomes the new #1 team in the country (first time in the BCS Era, first time overall since 1993), followed by three Southeastern Conference schools---Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.  The Ducks, who were #1 in both the Associated Press media and USA Today/Coaches polls, fell to #5 and #4, respectively.

After their Saturday annihilation of visiting California, the Oregon State Beavers remained steady in the BCS standings, remaining at #15.  They dropped a spot to #16 in the AP poll, while remaining at #17 in the coaches' rankings.

Following their Saturday road win at California, combined with Texas A&M's victory at Alabama, the Oregon Ducks climbed up a spot to #2 in the Bowl Championship Series standings that were released on Sunday.  The Ducks trail only Kansas State while Notre Dame moved up to #3, with Alabama now at #4 and Georgia at #5.  The Ducks now top both the Associated Press media poll (garnering 45 of a possible 60 first-place votes) and the USA Today/Coaches poll (44 of the 59 available first-place votes).

Following their tough road defeat at Stanford, the Oregon State Beavers dropped five place to #16 in the BCS standings, two spots to #15 in the AP poll, and five places to #17 in the coaches' poll.

After their 70-14 home pasting of Colorado, the Oregon Ducks remain in fourth place in the latest Bowl Championship Series standings which were released on Sunday.  The Ducks trail, in order, Alabama, Kansas State, and Notre Dame.  Oregon still ranks second in both the Associated Press (media) and USA Today/Coaches polls.

After suffering their first defeat of the season at Washington, the Oregon State Beavers drop four places to #11 in the latest BCS rankings, while dropping to #13 in both the media (down six spots)and coaches (down four) polls.

Even after their Thursday win at Arizona State (and remaining ranked #2 in both the Associated Press (media) and USA Today/Coaches polls), the Oregon Ducks dropped a spot to #4 in the Bowl Championship Series rankings that were released on Sunday, trailing Alabama, Florida, and Kansas State.

Meanwhile, coming off their home win over Utah, the Oregon State Beavers (who moved up to #7 in the AP poll and #9 in the coaches' rankings) climbed up a spot to #7 in the BCS standings.

Despite being idle this week, the Oregon Ducks remained ranked #2 in the latest Associated Press (media) and USA Today/Coaches polls that were released on Sunday.

Meanwhile, coming off their road win over BYU, the Oregon State Beavers climbed up to #8 in the AP poll and #11 in the Coaches' rankings.

In the first Bowl Championship Series ranking of the season, also having come out on Sunday, the Ducks are ranked third behind top-ranked Alabama and Florida, while the Beavers are at #8.  Kansas State and Notre Dame rounded out the top five.

Following their Saturday victory over Washington, the Oregon Ducks remained ranked #2 in both the Associated Press (media) and USA Today/Coaches polls released on Sunday.  The Ducks received the lone first-place coaches' poll vote not given to top-ranked Alabama (who were a unanimous #1 in the media poll).

The Oregon State Beavers, following their triump at Washington State's expense, climbed up four placed to #10 in the AP poll while moving up three spots to #14 in the coaches' poll.

Ducks Hold Steady At #4 In Both Polls; Beavers Garner Support After Knocking Off Wisconsin

After coasting to another home win over the weekend, this time against Fresno State, the Oregon Ducks remained at #4 in both the Associated Press (media) and USA Today/Coaches (in which they received one first-place vote) polls that were released on Sunday. 

Following their upset win at home over Wisconsin this past Saturday, the Oregon State Beavers received support in both polls.  OSU would be ranked #29 in the AP poll while the Beavers would be ranked #34 in the Coaches poll.

Following their 57-37 season-opening home win over Arkasas State, the Oregon Ducks climbed up a spot to #4 in both the Associated Press (media) and USA Today/Coaches polls.

In the aftermath of their Civil War thrashing of Oregon State, the Oregon Ducks moved up one spot in the latest Bowl Championship Series rankings to #9.  They also moved up a spot, to #8 in the Associated Press media poll, while moving up two places to #7 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings.


As for the Beavers, they dropped down slightly to a tie for 87th place with Washington State.

Following the Saturday night home defeat to USC, the Oregon Ducks dropped six places to #10 in the latest Bowl Championship Series rankings, released on Sunday.  The Ducks drop five places to #9 in both the media and coaches polls.


The top three BCS spots are occupied by schools from the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference, LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas.


After their Saturday home win over Washington, the Oregon State Beavers climbed up to #87 in the BCS rankings.

The first Bowl Championship Series rankings were released on Sunday and the Oregon Ducks (ranked #9 in the Associated Press media poll [same as last week] and #8 in the USA Today/Coaches poll [up one spot]) were ranked #10. Louisiana State University is ranked #1, followed by Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Boise State, Wisconsin, Clemson, Stanford, Arkansas, and the Ducks.


Out of the 120 Football Bowl Subdivision teams, the Oregon State Beavers were tied with New Mexico State for 103rd place.
