Beavers Overcome Sluggish Start To Overcome Sun Devils

At Corvallis, Oregon:

Quarterback Cody Vaz overcame a shaky start to throw for 267 yards and three touchdowns as the Oregon State Beavers (#11 in the BCS rankings, #13 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 7-1 overall, 5-1 in Pac-12 play) defeated the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils (5-4, 3-3) 36-26 on Saturday night as the Beavers bounced back after suffering their first defeat of the season last Saturday against Washington.

Ducks Douse Sun Devils In Desert To Remain Unbeaten

At Tempe, Arizona:

Running back Kenjon Barner ran for 143 yards and three touchdowns while quarterback Marcus Mariota ran for another 135 yards and another score (as well as receiving a touchdown pass from fellow QB Bryan Bennett) as the #3-ranked (BCS) Oregon Ducks (ranked second in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 7-0 overall, 4-0 in Pac-12 play) came back from an early deficit and spanked the home-standing Arizona State Sun Devils (ranked #24 in the coaches' poll; 5-2, 3-1) 43-21 on Thursday night.

Sun Devils Bounce Back From Halftime Deficit To Topple Beavers

At Tempe, Arizona:


Chanse Creekmur connected on six three-point shots enroute to scoring a career-high 24 points as the Arizona State Sun Devils (6-11 overall, 2-3 in Pac-12 play) came back from a three-point halftime deficit to overtake the visiting Oregon State Beavers (11-7, 1-5) 76-66 on Saturday.

Balanced Offense Carries Ducks

At Tempe, Arizona:


With four players (Devoe Joseph with 15 points, Tony Woods 12, E. J. Singler 11, and Garret Sim 10) in double figures, the Oregon Ducks (12-5 overall, 3-2 in Pac-12 play) defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils (5-11, 1-3) 67-58 on the road on Thursday night, offsetting a season-high 23 points from the Sun Devils' Trent Lockett.

MAACO Bowl Las Vegas: Broncos Buck Sun Devils

At Las Vegas, Nevada:


Doug Martin returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and ran for 151 yards (picking up a bowl-record 301 total yards) on Thursday night as the eighth-ranked (BCS) Boise State Broncos (12-1) dominated the Arizona State Sun Devils (6-7) 56-24 in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas.

Ducks Hold Off Sun Devils' Upset Bid

At Eugene, Oregon:


Before being injured, quarterback Darron Thomas completed 13 of 17 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns (12 yards to David Paulson and 28 to Lavasier Tuinei) while Kenjon Barner ran for 171 yards and another score as the LaMichael James-less Oregon Ducks (5-1 overall, 3-0 in Pac-12 play; ranked #9 in both the media and coaches' polls) held off the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils (5-2, 3-1; 18th in the media poll, 20th in the coaches' poll) 41-27 on Saturday night.

Another Setback For The Beavers

Cameron Marshall ran for two touchdowns while quarterback Brock Osweiler threw for two other scores and Jamal Miles racked up Arizona State's first punt return for a touchdown since 2005 as the #25-ranked Sun Devils (AP poll; 4-1 overall, 2-0 in Pac-12 play) kept the visiting Oregon State Beavers (0-4, 0-2) winless, 35-20 on Saturday night.

Running back Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 145 touchdowns while quarterback Ryan Katz threw for 260 yards and two scores as the Oregon State Beavers (2-2 overall, 1-0 in Pac-10 play), in their conference opener,  held off the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils (2-3 overall, 0-2 in Pac-10 play) 31-28 in Saturday action.

Beavers End Victory Drought In Tempe

At Tempe, Arizona:

Jacquizz Rodgers ran for two touchdowns and quarterback Sean Canfield threw for two more scores as the Oregon State Beavers (3-2, 1-1) ended their two-game losing streak by beating the Arizona State Sun Devils (2-2, 0-1) in Tempe for the first time since 1969 by a score of 28-17 on Saturday. The Beavers last win over the Sun Devils on the road took place while ASU was still a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
