NCAA East: Buckeyes Top Syracuse For Trip To New Orleans

At Boston:


Jared Sullinger scored 19 points as the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (31-7) downed the top-seeded Syracuse Orangemen (34-3) 77-70 in the final of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament played on Saturday at the TD Garden.  The Buckeyes are heading for the Final Four at New Orleans.

Gator Bowl: Urban's Old Team (One Of Them, Anyway) Beats His New One

At Jacksonville, Florida:


Defense and special teams proved important to the Florida Gators (7-6) as they defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-7) 24-17 in Monday's Gator Bowl game.  The Gators' Andre Debose returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, the longest scoring play in bowl history, Chris Rainey blocked a punt that was returned for another touchdown.  The win enabled Florida to avoid their first losing season since 1979.

Buckeyes Hold Off Hogs In Nawlins

At New Orleans:

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns and Solomon Thomas intercepted a Ryan Mallett pass with 58 seconds remaining as Ohio State (12-1) defeated Arkansas (10-3) 31-26 in Tuesday night's Allstate Sugar Bowl.  The win was the Buckeyes' first in ten bowl games against teams from the Southeastern Conference.

Terrelle Pryor Powers Bucks Past Ducks In Pasadena

At Pasadena, California:

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw for a career-high 266 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 72 yards as Ohio State (11-2) knocked off Oregon (10-3) 26-17 Friday in the Rose Bowl. This ended the Buckeyes' string of three straight defeats in BCS bowl games. The Ducks' defeat ended a 2-5 bowl season for Pacific-10 Conference schools, with the two Los Angeles schools providing the two victories.
