Beavers Hold Off Utes In Rainy Corvallis; Off To First 6-0 Start Since 1907

At Corvallis, Oregon:

Running back Storm Woods ran for three touchdowns (the first two coming after an interception and a fumble recovery) as the Oregon State Beavers (ranked #8 in the BCS, #8 in the Associated Press media poll, #11 in the USA Today/Coaches poll; 6-0 overall, 4-0 in Pac-12 play) are off to their first 6-0 start since 1907 following their 21-7 victory over the visiting Utah Runnin' Utes (2-5, 0-4) on a rainy Saturday night.

Ducks Destroy Crawlin' Utes

At Eugene, Oregon:


In the regular-season finale for both schools, Devoe Joseph scored 21 points as the Oregon Ducks (22-8 overall, 15-5 in Pac-12 play), who converted 15 three-point shots, demolished the visiting Utah Runnin' Utes (6-24, 3-15) 94-48 on Saturday, with Jason Washburn's 26 points making up more than half the Utes' team tally.  Oregon, who shot 56.5% from the field in the contest, will play in the quarterfinal round of the upcoming Pacific-12 Conference tournament as the #3 seed.

Beavers Top Utes To End Losing Streak

Jared Cunningham scored 17 points and dished out six assists while Joe Burton added 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Oregon State Beavers (16-13 overall, 6-11 in Pac-12 play) snapped a five-game losing skid on Thursday night with a 77-67 home win over the Utah Runnin' Utes (6-23, 3-14).

Jared Cunningham scored 20 points while the defense registered 16 steals as the Oregon State Beavers (15-8 overall, 5-6 in Pac-12 play) picked up their fourth win in their last five starts, a 76-58 road win over the Utah Runnin' Utes (5-18, 2-9), who committed 22 turnovers.

Devoe Johnson scored 20 points while Carlos Emory (who made all four field goal attempts and all five free throws) added 14 and E. J. Singler 12 as the Oregon Ducks (16-6 overall, 7-3 in Pac-12 play) won their fifth game in their last six starts, 79-68 over the Utah Runnin' Utes (5-17, 2-8) on the road.

Sun Bowl: Utes Erase 14-Point Deficit And Take Out Jackets In OT

At El Paso, Texas:


Quarterback Jon Hays threw three touchdown passes, two in the fourth quarter (three yards to Kendrick Moeai, then 28 yards to DeVonte Christopher with 1:32 remaining), then John White ran eight yards in overtime for the game-winning score as the Utah Runnin' Utes (8-5) came back from down fourteen points to force overtime, then defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (8-5) 30-27 in Saturday's Sun Bowl Game.

Josh Watkins scored a career-high 26 points while Jason Washburn and Cedric Martin added 18 and 11 respectively as the Utah Runnin' Utes (3-8) defeated the visiting Portland Pilots (3-9) 72-67 on Monday.

John White ran for a career-high 205 yards and a touchdown while Jon Hays threw two touchdown passes as the Utah Runnin' Utes (4-4 overall, 1-4 in Pac-12 play) picked up their first-ever Pac-12 Conference win on Saturday, 27-8 over the visiting Oregon State Beavers (2-6, 2-3)

Broncos Buck Utes In Vegas

At Las Vegas, Nevada:

An 84-yard touchdown run by Doug Martin ignited Boise State as the Broncos (12-1) defeated Utah (10-3) 26-3 in Wednesday night's MAACO Las Vegas Bowl.  The loss ended a nine-game bowl-winning streak for the Runnin' Utes, who played their last football game as a member of the Mountain West Conference before joining the soon-to-be-renamed Pacific-12 Conference.  The Broncos played their final football game as members of the Western Athletic Conference, before joining the Mountain West next school year.

Runnin' Utes Storm Back To Take Poinsettia Bowl

At San Diego:

Quarterback Jordan Wynn threw for a career-high 338 yards and three touchdowns as Utah (10-3) erased an early 14-point deficit to defeat California (8-5) 37-27 Wednesday night at the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. The Utes captured their FBS-high 9th straight bowl game and the Mountain West Conference is currently 3-0 in bowl games this season, with two of the wins coming at the expense of Pacific-10 Conference schools, BYU overpowering Oregon State the previous night in Las Vegas.

Ducks End Utes Winning Streak At 16

LaMichael James ran for 152 yards and John Boyett came up with a key interception as the Oregon Ducks (2-1) knocked off previously unbeaten #18 (AP Poll)/#16 (USA/Today Coaches Poll) Utah (2-1) 31-24 at home on Saturday, ending the Utes' nation-leading 16-game winning streak.
