Stanley Cup Playoffs: Marc Savard OT Goal Wins Thrilling Series Opener For Bruins; Canucks Blast Blackhawks In Chicago In Game One

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued with two games on Saturday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Boston:

In his first game back from a concussion in nearly two months, Marc Savard scored the game-winning goal at 13:52 of the first overtime period as the Boston Bruins defeated the visiting Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in the opening game of  their conference semifinal series.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Chicago:


Robert Luongo stopped 36 of 37 shots while five different goal scorers----Christian Ehrhoff, Mason Raymond, Henrik Sedin, Kyle Wellwood (PP), and Michael Grabner----each netted a goal as the Vancouver Canucks overpowered the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1 on the road in the opening contest of their conference semifinal series.
