From 1945, here's a Barney Bear cartoon from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer entitled "The Unwelcome Guest." In this cartoon, Barney tries in vain to eat a bowlful of berries, thanks to a skunk.
This cartoon, produced by Fred Quimby, was directed by George Gordon (who had left the studio before the film was released, that's why you don't see his name on the credits), with animation by Michael Lah, Ed Barge, and Jack Carr, and music by Scott Bradley.
