NBA Playoffs: Celtics One Win Away From Sweeping Knicks; Hawks, Lakers Take 2-1 Series Leads

Three games were played on Friday as the opening round of the NBA Playoffs continued.


Eastern Conference:  


At New York:


The Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks 113-96 on the road to take a commanding three-games-to-none lead in their conference quarterfinal series.  Paul Pierce scored 38 points, while Ray Allen added 32.  Rajon Rondo had a 15 point, 11 rebound, 20 assist (a Celtics playoff record) night.


At Atlanta:


Jamal Crawford headlined his 23-point night with a clutch three-pointer with 5.7 seconds remaining as the Atlanta Hawks, with their 88-84 game-three home win, took a two-games-to-one lead in their opening-round series with the Orlando Magic, despite Dwight Howard's 21 points and 15 rebounds.


Western Conference:


At New Orleans:


Kobe Bryant scored 30 points while Pau Gasol added 17 to go with his 10 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New Orleans Hornets in game three of their opening-round series on the road, 100-86, to take a two-games-to-one advantage.
