Legendary film actress Elizabeth Taylor, whose career spanned seven decades, and who is almost as well remembered for her numerous marriages, passed away on Wednesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from congestive heart failure at age 79.
Miss Taylor won two Academy Awards for best actress in "Butterfield 8" (1960) and "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf" (1966).
Liz also starred in "National Velvet" (1945), "A Place In The Sun" (1951), and "Cleopatra" (1963), amongst many, many others.
In "Cleopatra" and "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf," Liz played opposite her then-husband Richard Burton.
Liz was married to---and divorced---Dick, twice. She was also married to , amongst others, showman and impresario Mike Todd, singer/actor Eddie Fisher, and former Secretary-of-the-Navy-tuned-US Senator from Virginia John Warner.
