13-1 Shot Wins Belmont Stakes

At Elmont, New York:

Drosselmeyer, a 13-1 shot with jockey Mike Smith aboard, won the 142nd edition of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, beating out Fly Down by 3/4 of a length.  First Dude finished third.  For Mike Smith, it was his first Belmont win after going zero for his previous twelve tries, and for trainer Bill Mott, it was his first win in a Triple Crown race.
