Niners Club Cards In Season Finale; NFL Playoff Field Set

At San Francisco:

Alex Smith threw a 59-yard touchdown pass to Vernon Davis in the third quarter as the San Francisco 49ers (6-10), in what was likely Jim Tomsula's one game as interim head coach, buried the visiting Arizona Cardinals (5-11) 38-7 in the season finale for both teams on Sunday.

The field for the playoffs is now set.

NATIONAL FOOTBALL CONFERENCE: 

The top two seeds will have next weekend off and will host divisional playoff games the weekend of January 15 and 16.

1. Atlanta Falcons (13-3)
2. Chicago Bears (11-5)

New Orleans (11-5) travels to Seattle (7-9, first team to reach the playoffs with a losing record in a non-strike season) for a Saturday opening round game, starting at 1:30 PM.

Green Bay (10-6) will be at Philadelphia (10-6) for a Sunday contest that starts at 1:30 PM

AMERICAN FOOTBALL CONFERENCE:


The top two seeds will start seeing playoff action at home in the divisional playoffs on January 15 and 16.

1. New England Patriots (14-2)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4)

On Saturday night, Indianapolis (10-6) will play host to the New York Jets (11-5) in an AFC opening-round contest starting at 5:00 PM.

Sunday will see Baltimore (12-4) visit Kansas City (10-6) starting at 10:00 AM.
