BAMA WINS BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

At Pasadena, California:

Running backs Mark Ingram (116 yards) and Trent Richardson (109) each ran for two touchdowns and the defense knocked Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy out of the game, and intercepted backup QB Garrett Gilbert four times (though he did throw two touchdown passes in the second half to Jordan Shipley to close the margin to three points) as Alabama (14-0) claimed their 13th national championship---their first since 1992---with a 37-21 victory over Texas (13-1) Thursday night in the Citi BCS National Championship game. It marked the fourth straight BCS national championship for a team from the Southeastern Conference.
