Niners Jump Out To Big Lead, Hold Off Pats Rally, Clinch Playoff Berth

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for four touchdowns on Sunday night, two of them to Michael Crabtree, one of them (a 38-yarder) which 6:25 remaining in the fourth quarter which turned out to be the game winner as the San Francisco 49ers (10-3-1) raced out to a 28-point second half lead, survived a New England comeback which had tied the game, then defeated the Patriots (10-4) 41-34 on the road to clinch their second straight playoff berth.  The Niners can lock up the NFC West Division title and assure themselves of at least one home playoff game with a win next Sunday night at Seattle.
