At Calgary, Alberta:
The Montreal Alouettes came from behind to defeat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 28-27 Sunday to win the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup championship. Quarterback Anthony Calvillo threw a touchdown pass to slotback Ben Cahoon (shown here) in the fourth quarter. The Als' two-point conversion attempt failed, but in the final seconds, after the 'Riders were penalized for too many men on the field, Montreal kicker David Duval, whose failed 43-yard field goal attempt was wiped out by the Saskatchewan penalty, connected from 33 yards, giving the Alouettes their first Grey Cup title since 2002.
