ACLS: Yankees Erupt For Five Runs In Eighth Inning To Top Rangers In Opener

At Arlington, Texas:

The New York Yankees erupted for five runs in their half of the eighth inning on Friday night as they erased what had been a five-run deficit after six innings to defeat the Texas Rangers 6-5 in the opening contest of the American League Championship Series.  This marked the tenth straight postseason win for the Yankees over the Rangers, who still have never won a playoff game at home.
