Art Gilmore, R. I. P.

Art Gilmore, who began his career as a radio announcer in the 1930s and in a career that spanned more than six decades, his voice was featured in more than 2, 700 movie trailers, on radio, television, in commercials and documentaries, passed away last Saturday (September 25) at a convalescent home near his Irvine, California home at age 98.

Mr. Gilmore was the longtime announcer on Red Skelton's TV show as well as the narrator on the old syndicated Highway Patrol series.
