NCAA East: Tar Heels Win Close One; Dominating Win For Buckeyes; Marquette Ousts Syracuse

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Round of 32 concluded on Sunday with eight games, three of them in the East Region.


At Charlotte, North Carolina:


Tyler Zeller scored 23 points and Harrison Barnes added 22 as #2 North Carolina held off #7 Washington 86-83.


At Cleveland:


David Lighty made all seven three-point shots and scored 25 points while Jared Sullinger added 18 (to go with his 8 rebounds) as #1 Ohio State routed #8 George Mason 98-66 in the first of two East Region games played at Quicken Loans Arena.


In the nightcap, Darius Johnson-Odum scored 17 points, connecting on a three-point shot with 27 seconds remaining as #11 Marquette knocked out #3 Syracuse 66-62.
