NCAA West: Narrow Wins For Duke (#900 For Coach K) And Arizona

Two NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament West Region contests took place on Sunday.


At Charlotte, North Carolina:


Nolan Smith scored 24 points while Kyle Singler added 13, to go with his 8 rebounds and 4 assists as #1 Duke hung on for a 73-71 win over #8 Michigan.  The victory was career win #900 for Blue Devils' head coach Mike Krzyzewski.


At Tulsa, Oklahoma:


Derrick Williams' three-point basket with 9.6 seconds remaining (three of his 17 points) lifted #5 Arizona to a 70-69 victory over #4 Texas.
