American League Championship Series: Rangers Use Nine-Run Third Inning To Help Bury Tigers To Lock Up Second Straight Pennant

At Arlington, Texas:


Michael Young and series Most Valuable Player Nelson Cruz (who had six in this series) each belted a home run, while the Texas Rangers scored nine runs in the fourth inning on Saturday night to smother the visiting Detroit Tigers 15-5 to win, in six games, their second straight American League pennant and trip to the World Series.
