NCAA East: It's Syracuse vs. Ohio State For Trip To Final Four

The semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's East Regional took place at the TD  Garden on Thursday.


In the opener, C. J. Fair scored 15 points as top-seeded Syracuse (34-2) held off the fourth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (26-10) 64-63, enabling the Orangemen to reach the Elite Eight for the first time since their national championship season of 2002-03.


In the nightcap, Jared Sullinger produced a double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds) while Deshaun Thomas scored 26 as the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (30-7) used a 17-1 run to wear down the sixth-seeded Cincinnati Bearcats (26-11) 81-66.


The Buckeyes will take on Syracuse on Saturday for a trip to the Final Four in New Orleans.
