WCC Tournament: It's St. Mary's vs. Gonzaga For The Crown

Both games of the semifinal round of the West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament were played in Las Vegas on Saturday.


In the opener, Clint Steindl scored 19 points, eighteen of them on six three-pointers and top seeded St. Mary's (26-5) defeated fifth-seeded San Francisco (20-13) 83-78 to reach the championship game for the fourth straight year.  Saturday's win was the Gaels' 14th straight over the Dons.


In the nightcap, Kevin Pangos scored 20 points as the second-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (25-5) defeated the #3-seed BYU Cougars (25-8) 77-58 to advance to Monday's championship game against St. Mary's.  It will be the fifteenth straight championship game appearance for the Zags.
