NCAA West: Gators and Cardinals Reach Elite Eight

The semifinal round of the West Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament took place with two games played at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona:

In the opening contest, Chane Behanan scored 15 points while Gorgui Dieng blocked seven shots as fourth-seeded Louisville (29-9) made Michigan State (29-8)  the first #1-seed to fall in the tournament with a 57-44 victory, despite a 13-point, 16-rebound performance from the Spartans' Draymond Green.

In the nightcap, Bradley Beal hit eight of ten shots en route to a 21-point night as the seventh-seeded Florida Gators (26-10) downed the third-seeded Marquette Golden Eagles (27-8) 68-58.

The Gators will battle another Big East team, the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday for a berth in the Final Four.
