NCAA South: Kentucky Avenges Loss To Hoosiers, Will Get Baylor (Who Held Off Game Musketeers) In Regional Final

The semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's South Regional took place with two Friday contests at Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

In the opener, Quincy Acy scored 20 points and pulled down 15 rebounds as third-seeded Baylor (30-7) raced out to a big early lead, then held on to defeat stubborn tenth-ranked Xavier (23-13) 75-70 to reach their second Elite Eight in three years.

In the nightcap, Michael Kidd-Gichrist scored 24 points (while grabbing 12 rebounds) and Doron Lamb added 21 as the Kentucky Wildcats (35-2), with five players in double-figures, avenged their defeat from early December to Indiana, beating the fourth-seeded Hoosiers (27-9) 102-90.  The top-seeded Wildcats will battle Baylor on Sunday for a berth in the Final Four.
