The NBA Playoffs continued with four games on Tuesday.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
At Cleveland:
Even with an injured right elbow, LeBron James scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and made 9 assists, just missing a triple double, as the Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Chicago Bulls with a 96-94 home win in game five, enabling the Cavaliers to win their conference quarterfinal series four games to one. Antawn Jamison scored 25 points to pace Cleveland.
At Boston:
Ray Allen scored 24, making five second-half three-pointers, while Paul Pierce scored 21 points, and Rajon Rondo added 16, to go with his 12 assists and 8 rebounds, as the Boston Celtics pulled the plug on the Miami Heat with their 96-86 game-five home win over Miami to close out their first-round series four games to one. Next up for the Celtics, a conference semifinal series with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Dallas:
Caron Butler scored 35 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks avoided elimination with a 103-81 game-five home win over the San Antonio Spurs, who still lead this first-round series, three games to two.
At Los Angeles:
Pau Gasol had 25 points and 11 rebounds, Andrew Bynum added 21 points and the Los Angeles Lakers shook off two straight losses on the road as they took a three-games-to-two lead in their conference quarterfinal series with the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning game five 111-87 at home.
