The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Monday with three games.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
At Montreal:
Jaroslav Halak made 53 saves, a new playoff record for a non-overtime game, and Mike Cammalleri scored twice, once on the power play, as the Montreal Canadiens evened their opening round series with the Washington Capitals at three games apiece with a 4-1 home beatdown of the Caps in game six. Game seven will be played on Wednesday night in Washington.
At Boston:
A two goal (one on the power play), one assist night for David Krejci lifted the Boston Bruins to a series-clinching 4-3 home win in game six to eliminate the Buffalo Sabres in six games in their conference quarterfinal series.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Nashville:
Jonathan Toews scored with 31 seconds remaining in a wild seven-goal first period and the Chicago Blackhawks went on to defeat the Nashville Predators 5-3 on the road in game six to win their first-round playoff series four games to two. The Blackhawks will next take on the Vancouver Canucks in the conference semifinals.
